my car trip.

last night, 16th of august 2009, it was my turn to go for a drive with mum, dad and kye. Mum and Dad take it in turns to take me, Harley, and Hooch for a drive, they do this so we each get some special one on one time.
anyway it was my turn last night, and we drove in to Bude, I always get a bit nervouse when we head towards Bude, because that's where the vets is, well stratton, which is just past Bude, and I always worry they are taking me for a sneaky checkup so i was very relieved when we pulled off at the turning to Bude instead of carrying on to stratton especially as mum and dad keep discussing having me spayed , which i am really not looking forward too.
Well when we got to Bude dad pulled into the esso garage and got some petrol, he also had to get a few things mum forgot to buy when she did the online weekly shop. She's good at forgetting stuff.
while we were waiting for dad I watched lots of people coming and going and i got excited everytime someone looked like they were heading my way, because i love people and am always game for a stroke, but although people smiled, no one came to say hello which made me sad. But the window was up so i guess people didnt really think about it, I must tell mum to open the window next time.
well after the garage dad headed for the beach at widmouthbay, and when we got there i was so excited and so was mum, but then we saw a big sign that said no dogs, I was so dissapointed and the sign hadnt been there a few weeks before, mum says its because of the summer season, and said some people dont like dogs and like to go to beaches where dogs arent allowed. She says that because some people dont clean up after their dogs it spoils the fun for everyone, but she promised we would go back when the holiday makers had all gone home because dogs would be alowed on the beach again then.
mum did try dropping hints to dad about other beaches that might still allow dogs but dad pretended he didnt get the hints, but i saw him roll his eyes so i know he did and just didnt want to drive back into bude.
But they stopped in the carpark for a while and let me stick my head out the window, and watch the sea, and the people walking on the beach, I loved it and had my front paws on the window with my head right out.
some people came real close to the car, but no one stopped to stroke me, then a man came along with a little brown terrier who looked like fun, and he went down on the beach despite the signs. Mum said some people were set in there ways and refused to pay attention to the signs and that she didnt blame them, but she didnt get out the car, because she said knowing her luck if she ignored the signs someone would come along and she'd get in trouble.
because i was watching the other dogs so longingly mum and dad decided to move on and we moved up to this huge layby that looks out over the sea, and widemouth bay all the way across to bude, and on a clear day even to the saterlite dishes, again i was allowed to stick my head out the window and i watched these people in a campervan moving around with candles. It was very pretty and quite dark at that point.
I was standing on mums leg at one point turning around and around trying to look at everything and i misjudged it slightly and nearly fell, but i jumped at the last minute onto dads lap, he was making a rollie at the time and i knocked the backie all over him, mum thought it was hilarious.
when we got home i jumped all over hooch and harley and told them about my trip, harley was a bit grumpy because he didnt get to go, but he had his turn the day before, so i didnt feel guilty, and i just ran round him in circles barking, he snapped at me but i was to quick for him and just run outside chasing hooch, who as usual was completely oblivious to everything but his need to pee, we had only been gone just over and hour, but he is always the same, as soon as they come home he wants to pee.
It was a good drive and i look forward to the next one.
